OA Induction Weekend
by Tyler H.
The OA induction weekend started on Friday evening May 19th. We arrived Friday night at camp Naish and set up tents. After setting up our tents, we walked for a mile or two so that we could meet up with the new Ordeal candidates for Order of the Arrow as they were coming from the opening ceremony. After that was over, we went back to our tents to get some sleep. It rained for a long time while we were asleep, but cleared up the next day in the afternoon.
On Saturday morning, we woke up really early around 6-7 o’clock in the morning and we ate really good breakfast in the dinning hall. We then had to sit in the rain waiting for our assignment to get brotherhood. Dillon Emch, Ben Scroggins and Tyler Hake from troop 412 were working toward our brotherhood. Mr. Hake was our only Ordeal candidate at induction weekend.
Troop 412 had the assignment of working at the archery station. There were actually people we knew from our school working at the archery station also! They were there with another troop. We had a really good lunch. Then we had a person talk to us for about an hour or two about what was going to happen at the ceremony of the Order of the Arrow for Brotherhood. The Brotherhood Ceremony took place in the afternoon. After the ceremony we went to the trading post and looked around there for a while. We then went to have dinner. After dinner we went to the Ordeal Ceremony to watch Mr. Hake become another member of the Order of the Arrow. Then we went to the trading store to get supplies for the Order of the Arrow. Then we left camp late Saturday evening.
